About the Artist...
A Brief History about the Artist
I was born in the year 1983 in a city called Worcester. Which is west of Boston. As a child I always enjoyed doing my own thing while contemplating life and its general workings. I graduated high school in 2001 and I had no idea what I was doing with my life. I moved to and from the east and west coasts trying to figure out my path. I would work where ever I could get a job. I had jobs from picking up trash at a landfill to high end retail positions in Beverly Hills. I couldn't find what would make me happy. I knew I liked being artsy, martial arts and playing with tools. Was there a way I could combine all three? Possibly, but I should probably focus on one thing at a time. More schooling seemed like a viable option. Now to decide what to go to school for. I wanted something that I would enjoy, but also could make money off of remotely fast because well I was living in Los Angeles at the time and that place isn't cheap! I attended a vocation college for automotive technologies at Universal Technical Institute while working a full time job. I would wake up at 4 a.m Monday through Friday. I would drive about an hour to school, go to school, drive an hour back, go to work, sleep and repeat. I worked seven days a week but I was motivated to suceede. I excelled further than I could have even imagined! I attained a 4.0 GPA and was excepted into a specialty training program for Mercedes Benz. To briefly summarize the next 10 years as a mechanic was somewhat of a challenge. I started off working places that I was convinced that they were doing me a favor by hiring me because iwas a girl to eventually realize that I am qualified, motivated and I deserve to be here just as much as anyone else. I eventually found a dealership that appreciated me for who I was. However, I sustained numerous injuries over the years and came to realize I do love what I am doing but there isn't longevity in this career. While working at MB of Honolulu I decided I was going to try to go back to school at Kapi'olani Community College while I am working. Just start taking some classes and see where it goes. Something was telling me it was the right choice. I ended up failing my first math class!! I was like ooooh nooooo what am I doing?! I didn't test, study or take academic classes in about 18 years. I needed to get the cobwebs cleaned up, but something told me to persist. That is exactly what I did. I kept going! Everytime I thought I was on the wrong path something would assure me I was heading in the right direction. I was able to participate in an in person NASA experience at the Ames Research Center and that solidified that this is what I am supposed to be doing. Any time I had a doubt something extrodanry would happen. From being part of Hawaii Space Flight Laboratory assisting in brining an online interactive aerospace textbook to life to being awarded local scholarships. Everything just keeps falling into place, in a chaotic matter!

I am now currently dual enrolled at the community college and University of Hawaii Manoa where I accepted though a special program to work on both my associates and bachelors (maybe Masters or PhD?!) At the same time. If all goes well I will get my Associates in physics and pre engineering in December 2021. My official degree at UHM is " Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace Focus and a minor in Astrophysics".
Am I scared out of my mind?!
Yes.

Will I give up?!
No.

I left out a lot of details about my life. It has been "interesting" to say the least, but basically I am hoping to help inspire someone who is afraid to do something. To let them know that no matter how difficult it may seem that as long as they put in the effort they can do anything they can dream of!

Please feel free to ask any questions! Be it about school and my adventure or customizing something artsy for you! My art and creativity is an extension of myself and my studies. It gives me peace and happiness! (plus a couple extra bucks while going to school!)
